Take, for example, a company using nine different applications like Buffer, LeadPages, Quickbooks, Zoho, Google Docs, Wix, Infusionsoft (now Keap), Stripe, and TypeForm. Each tool serves a unique function, but the downside is that it also means nine different payments, logins, and systems to learn. This fragmentation results in information being scattered across nine different databases, making it challenging to get a unified view of customer data and business operations.

For instance, customers who make payments tracked via Quickbooks may not be effectively marketed to through a sales tool like Zoho CRM. Campaigns launched in Infusionsoft may work seamlessly, but the financial side of things becomes fragmented if payments are received in another system. This lack of integration can lead to inefficiencies and missed opportunities for businesses.

Recognizing the importance of integrated solutions, companies like Zoho have introduced platforms like Zoho One, which offer a unified database and set of tools for marketing, finance, and collaboration. This shift towards integration allows businesses to streamline their operations and gain a comprehensive view of their customers and finances.

While specialized “point” solutions like TypeForm aren’t going away, more companies are expanding their core platforms to include additional services. For example, Wix, known for website creation, has ventured into CRM and finance with Wix Ascend.

If you’re using a point solution that works well for your business, there’s no need to rip it out immediately. Instead, consider gradually migrating parts of your operations to more integrated solutions. Many companies are making it easier to connect core functions like finance, marketing, and collaboration, offering a more holistic view of your business.

By embracing integrated solutions, businesses can gain a unified view of their customers and streamline their operations. Events like ZohoDay not only showcase the capabilities of integrated platforms but also shed light on the culture and values of companies like Zoho.
