How Small Business Owners Can Achieve Work-Life Balance
Recent research conducted by Xero’s 2017 Make or Break report has shed light on the work-life balance struggles faced by British small business owners. The report reveals that over half of these entrepreneurs express a desire to take more time off to prevent burnout, with only 39 per cent currently able to take a long holiday.
Recognizing the importance of personal wellbeing on business success, 78 per cent of small business owners believe that their own health directly impacts the health of their business.
Top Tips for Entrepreneurs
To help entrepreneurs make the most out of their business and summer this year, Xero offers the following tips:
1. Stay Healthy
Prioritize your physical and mental health by eating well, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. Natural daylight is also important for mental wellbeing and sleep patterns.
2. Take All Your Holidays
Regular breaks are essential to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Encourage your staff to take time off as well, as rested employees are more productive.
3. Schedule Your Day
Identify your peak productivity hours and tackle the most challenging tasks during that time. Save simpler tasks for periods when your mental energy is lower.
4. Learn to Delegate
Successful business managers delegate tasks effectively to the right people. Practice delegating to alleviate your workload and improve business efficiency.
5. Switch Off
Avoid constant work-related emails and take time to relax and unwind. Disconnecting before bedtime can improve sleep quality and overall wellbeing.
Remember, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucial for both personal happiness and business success. Find the right balance that works for you and prioritize self-care.
